The word diet is an ugly duckling yearning to turn into a beautiful swan. It’s time diet gets a makeover. Where is Oprah when you need her?Let me quickly apologize for my absence. We are on day 5 without power at my home and I went out this morning leaving hubby and baby in the cold, dark house to search for internet access and power. Thank you, Starbucks.
When I mention the word diet do you break into a cold sweat and immediately start craving fried fatty foods? It is only natural as for as long as I have been alive that word has meant giving up yummy food and starving on basically nothing. Well, enough is enough!
Diet simply refers to what you eat in a day. It is not something you “go on.”
I want you to promise me right now that you will never utter the words “I am going on a diet,” again!
Instead commit to make changes to your diet. Choose healthier alternatives to your indulgences. Choose to limit indulgences to the appropriate portion sizes. Choose to eliminate or lessen the processed foods you eat. Choose to be in control of what you put in your body. Choose to listen to your body and not eat out of boredom. Choose to live a better quality of life by adding fruits and veggies as well as lean proteins and whole grain carbohydrates to your diet.
