You say you can’t possibly find the time to exercise. Well, I am going to help you squeeze in a calorie burning workout in just 4 minutes.I’m talking Tabatas, baby. If you’ve never heard of Tabata training it breaks down like this:
You alternate 2 exercises, performing them for 20 seconds each with 10 seconds of rest in between them. An example would be 20 seconds: push-ups, 10 seconds: recovery, 20 seconds: bicycle crunches, 10 seconds: recovery. Repeat 4 times (you reach 4 minutes).
The key is that you perform these exercises for only 20 seconds at maximum effort. You push yourself and then you get 10 seconds to recover before performing the second exercise at maximum effort for 20 seconds.
Now, I of course recommend going beyond 4 minutes by doing a few Tabata circuits. You could get one heck of a workout in just 20 minutes. BUT, if you find yourself saying day after day, ” I don’t have time to exercise,” then find 4 minutes and knock out a quick Tabata circuit. Believe me, it is an effective way to burn calories and build muscle on a time budget.
