Insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
So you have been exercising but the scale hasn’t budged. You’ve been eating healthy but the scale hasn’t budged. What could be the problem?
I hate to say it but most of us give ourselves way too much credit where exercise and nutrition are concerned. Sure you may choose healthy foods most of the time and make a conscious effort not to eat desserts but how much are you eating? And do you count those little nibbles here and there? If the scale isn’t moving be honest with yourself. People often tell me they can’t understand why they are not losing weight and then confess that they went out for drinks the other night and oh did have some of their friend’s spinach and artichoke dip and then forgot to eat breakfast the next day…etc. It is time to be honest with yourself.
If you really are measuring everything and are 100% your portions are correct and that you are eating within your calorie range, perhaps you are getting too many of your calories from proteins or sugar.
Next examine your fitness routine. If you do the same thing all of the time you will need to change it up. I’ve already explained the importance of upping the intensity of your workouts and increase the weight you lift to continue to progress in your weight loss journey. You cannot simply burn calories by attending an exercise class, you must actively participate and push yourself.
Also, you could be overdoing it. If you are exercising night and day, your body may not react the way you think it will. Overexercising can cause you to plateau so be sure you are working hard but giving yourself enough rest in between workouts.
Change is good.
