On this Valentine’s day, I just wanted to write a quick post reminding you that love does not equal sugar. We are programmed to need chocolate or other sugary goodies on this “holiday” and that is just nonsense. How does eating a piece of chocolate celebrate the love I have in my life? Now, if you are one of those “I hate Valentine’s day” people – do not let the holiday win by partaking in a chocolate binge.
If you are in a relationship – do something together other than just eat. I am sure you can think of something…
If you are not, do something for yourself other than hose a box of chocolate. The chocolate won’t love you back. ‘
HOWEVER if you do want to enjoy a sweet treat, do it with a healthy touch. I suggest chocolate covered strawberries or a low calorie brownie recipe like the one below. Keep it light – you don’t want a full stomach when you are celebrating!!
